Riber Hansson has resonance with dissonance
side by side
Leksand, Sweden, December 2, 2002
- Leksand, a small Town in Dalarna, in the heart of Sweden had the
honor of welcoming a special guest in Riber Hansson.
Dalarna, and especially the region around Lake Siljan, has deep
cultural traditions in music and art and so it was a perfect place
for an exhibition of Hansson's roughly 150 drawings. The rich one-man
show featured selected illustrations and cartoons. Hansson has said
referring to the exhibited works that "I look at illustration
as a work in resonance with the author's text, whereas cartoon is
in dissonance with politics and power." Some of the showcased
illustrations are in color and there are many portrait caricatures
of international as well as Swedish personages.
