ISRAEL
LOOKING FOR HELP IN SOLVING
A MYSTERY
Shay Farkash is doing
research and wall painting restoration on the walls of houses built
in 1870-1935 in Israel. About two months ago he and his colleagues
discovered two big murals in an old house in Jaffa. The house belonged
to a German family by the name Weiland Hogo, a Templer settler.
The murals were painted in the guest room in around 1930. Farkash
feels that they look similar in style to Erick Kastner books.
He is looking for the meaning and the original story behind the
cartoons in order to restore them perfectly. Anybody with knowledge
that can be helpful in his quest, please contact Shay
Farkash.

Old and restored: Jocky trying to
stop the horse by pulling his tail. This mural was covered by three
layers of lime paint.

This mural showing weight lifters
is in the same room.
The restored sketches were made by painter Haim Kapchith
