A
"No Comment" e-mail from Egypt
Cairo, Egypt, September 15, 2002 - Remembering our magazine's "No Comment" feature that occasionally
showcased very similar cartoons from around the world, our Egyptian
editor, Effat sent in these pictures on the right - without a comment.
The first picture shows a thousands of years old relief of the Egyptian
God of Humor. Next to it is the logo of the famed and now defunct
Montreal International Salon of Cartoons, which, for twenty-five years,
was one of the most prestigous cartoon art festivals in the world.
Robert LaPalme,
director of the salon never denied the inspiration and fashioning
the logo after the ancient imagery.
