Suresh Sawant Indian Desk Suresh Sawant has been doing cartoons, caricatures, humorous illustrations for various periodicals, organizations, and recently even dot com companies, for about 30 years. Worked with the Times of India and contributed eco-political as well as social cartoons to The Economic Times, Filmfare, The Independent, etc. He created and drew "Bambaya" a humor strip for the Evening News of India for several years. Other publications regularly carrying his cartoons in India among others are the Reader's Digest, Science Reporter, Fortune India, and The Assignments Abroad Times. He is also a regular contributor to the German magazine epd Entwicklungspolitik and the Swiss Wenderkreis. Sawant has won prizes in various national and international cartoon competitions. Some of his work can be found in prestigious cartoon museums in Canada, Switzerland, Japan, and the USA. In 2002 the government of India produced a television documentary on Sawant for a serial titled "The Eminent Cartoonists of India."
