Jose Emilio Polo

A free-lance cartoonist, José Emilio Polo has extensive experience in Spanish language writing and editing. He was an executive writer for Men's Health Magazine's Spanish language edition and in charge of the editorial coordination of the first publication of Newsweek magazine in Spanish. He also served as assitant to the Public Information Office of the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Having started in 1980, Polo's cartooning career saw his work published in over twenty countries and won him five international and seven national prizes in Cuba. His work was exhibited in more than 40 exhibitions around the world, while he himself was a member of cartoon juries on three occasions.
