Chong, born Jose Santos Patron Ardivilla on March 8, 1978, is one of, if not, the youngest political cartoonist in the Philippines. He graduated cum laude from the College of Fine Arts, University of the Philippines in Diliman in 1999. Since then, he is part of the Manila Standard's editorial department where he is designated as the art director and as the online editor. Aside from cartooning, he is tasked to render layouts, graphic design, and contribute articles regarding (pop) culture and such. He is currently taking up his M.A. Art History from the College of Arts and Letters at the University of the Philippines Diliman campus. He is an officer of the Samahang Kartunista ng Pilipinas or SKP (Society of Philippine Cartoonists) where he has participated in a number of national exhibitions.
