WittyWorld's first, historical edition appeared with two different covers. The newsstand edition came out with an illustration by American comic book artist Stan Sakai; and there was another version for cartoonists and artists to draw their own. Later, many of these "blank cover" copies, when outfitted with an original art, were auctioned off at various museums. The following is a sampling of first edition covers graced by original drawings from WittyWorld founder Joe Szabo's personal collection:
Sergio Aragones

Fang Cheng
Mike Peters
Oliver Schopf
Art Spiegelman
Paul Szép
