Joe Szabo has been keynote speaker and lecturer in the United States and abroad at conferences, festivals, conventions, and at a variety of schools and universities. Outside of the United States, his numerous appearances include talks, lectures, and presentations in China, France, Germany, Hungary, Iran, Japan, Kenya, New Zealand, Russia, Turkey, and Uruguay.

His career encompassing two continents, Szabo has launched a variety of print and electronic publications, established an international media service, and authored or edited books that were published in five languages. Among his most noted works is a hardcover book series titled The Finest International Political Cartoons of our Time. He is best known for creating and publishing WittyWorld International Cartoon Magazine, which — for over a decade — reported from 111 world-wide locations and was read in over a hundred countries.

He is currently conducting a world-wide study and writing a book about the The Image of America.

Szabo is the recipient of thirteen international awards and honors, including an International Press Prize from Belgium and a Lifetime Achievement Award from Mexico.
