  Responsible for developing concepts, overseeing the production of marketing materials, finding sponsors and selling advertising for this top national swim club featuring Olympic, national and world champions.
     
2001-'01   Publishing Director - USA Swimming
  Responsible for content development and production of USA Swimming's print and electronic publications including a quarter million circulation magazine and the organization's web site at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
     
1987-'00   Editor-in-Chief - WittyWorld International Cartoon Magazine
  This magazine served as the only international publication for the cartoon industry connecting the creative and user ends, while providing entertainment for the public world-wide. During its twelve years of operation, WittyWorld reported from 110 countries and territories, and, at its peak, was distributed to 103 countries. Responsibilities included editorial management, content development and design, and the organization of annual editorial conferences in geographically diverse territories.
     
1992-'95   President - WittyWorld Books
  Published high quality serious, reference, and entertaining books specializing in international cartoons. Most successful project was a popular series titled The Finest International Political Cartoons of our Time, which received wide international critical acclaims and was also published in German ("Weltpolitik in Karikaturen") and Portuguese ("Os Melhores Cartoons Politícos da Actualidade") languages.
     
1987-'03   International Consultant
    Consulting work for the World Comics Summit and the government of Henan Province in Zhengzhou, China; United Media, particularly in Hungary; for Mad Magazine in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Russia; and for Pen Tip International in Poland, Singapore, Yugoslavia, Cuba and Mexico. Organized exhibitions, conferences, was a member of various international panels, and served on juries of European, North and Central American comic art competitions. Cooperated / partnered with international businesses and organizations in Argentina, China, Colombia, England, Germany, Hungary, Japan, Kenya, Korea, Poland, Portugal, and Turkey.

  Held positions as art director for Sting Magazine, contracted illustrator / cartoonist for The Philadelphia Daily News, and published in a variety of national and international newspapers including The Washington Post, Philadelphia Inquirer, San Francisco Examiner, Le Monde (France), Asahi Shimbun (Japan), Journal do Brazil (Brazil), Frankfurter Rundschau (Germany), El Pais (Spain), Indian Express (India), and Zycie Warszawy (Poland).

  This position was the second highest ranking in the daily operation of Hungary's most reputable national daily at the time. Responsibilities encompassed overall design, headlines, layout, copy fitting, art selection, illustration, and freelance contracting.

    Nök Lapja was the largest four-color weekly magazine in Hungary with a circulation of over one million. Responsibilities included concept development, layout and design, liaison with artists, photographers, and illustrators.

  • Public speaker, lecturer, at international conferences, universities and schools in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America.
  • Organized and chaired the largest and most diverse international cartoon festival to date with the participation of 35 countries (National Fine art Gallery, Budapest, Hungary, 1990).
  • Represented North America as a member of the international planning committee for the World Cartoon Summit (Zhengzhou City, China - 2003).
  • Guest of Honor and lecturer at the 6th International Tehran Cartoon Biennial (Iran - 2003)
  • Founding member: International Spring Festival, an annual celebration of diverse cultures from around the world (Lansdale, Pennsylvania - 1992-2006 )
  • Researched and published articles about plagiarism, exploitation of cartoonists and misuses of their works as well as harassments and atrocities against them worldwide. As a result of this work, was invited to serve on the board of directors of the UNESCO sanctioned Montreal, Canada, based human rights watch organization The Commission for Freedom and Justice Through Humor.
  • Compiled the first international who is who in cartooning.
  • Organized or co-organized international conferences and exhibitions on three continents.

  • Conducted pioneering international survey of the cartoon industry and co-published the findings in a book titled "Cartoonometer" with Temple University Professor John A. Lent (1994)
  • Led U.S. delegation of high profile (Pulitzer Prize winning and internationally syndicated) cartoonists to the Russian satirical magazine Krokodil in Moscow (1990)
  • Guest lecturer and adjudicator-examiner in publication design at the Hungarian Academy of Journalism (1974-79).
